A Thought Before Suicide

by Kimberly Thompson

In the depths of my mind
I am screaming for freedom
as if caught in a dream
from which there is no
The burdens are upon me
like a plague.
It came like a thief in
the night and has stolen
my soul...I am weeping
Help me! I'm trapped like
a claustrophobic stuck in
an elevator and I can't breathe.
I am frozen in the coldness of
the night with no one to keep
me warm, no one to save me
from my own thoughts
I am going insane!

I jump...

Kimberly Thompson is a single mother of a 4 year old boy who has been writing poetry since her early teens. She finds that it is very therapeutic, as well as an enjoyable escape. Writing was something that she fell into even before becoming the avid reader that she is today. You can read more of her work at her poetry blog.
