A Walk in the Clouds
by A.J. Huffman

"I have spread my dreams
under your feet;"
- William Butler Yeats

Soft white possibilities
pale beneath the pressure.
Your soul forces them,
all weepy red
and flat,
into past depressions.

And at night,
I gather them.
The black and blue bits.
Laying them,
end to end,
on the kitchen counter.

And I try
to draw
their technicolored life
back
with permanent markers
and scotched tape.
